These bookshelf speakers have built-in amplification with a choice of connectivity and a sleek, stylish design that will compliment your home. This compact kit provides you a good quality sound without the need for an amplifier or loads of cables cluttering up your space. The Parallax kicks out 60 watts of power and the custom crafted DSP (Digital Signal Processing) delivers a clean, even and layered sound that is more than satisfactory for this price range. With a thick bass, rich mid-tones and clear high-tones, it will prove suitable for most genres of music, but it might lack a bit of punch for bass-heads.

The Parallax is versatile and will connect to even your most ancient of formats: it will connect to MP3 players, cassette players, Discmans and even turntables with Bluetooth compatibility, as well as smartphones and  tablets. Pull out those embarrassing first singles on cassette or find your guilty pleasures on Spotify - no song is safe. It isn’t just songs these speakers are good for, however - pair them up to your TV and they will seamlessly add a new dimension to movie night. The Parallax is simple to set up; simply connect the two cables and it is ready to use. The included remote will allow you to adjust the bass and treble for more control over your sound quality, as well as all the other functions you could need. These speakers are constructed with a four-inch glass fibre cone woofer and one-inch silk tweeters housed in a glossy black wooden case that feels solid and well-built. The only thing I would like is a slightly increased Bluetooth range - it claims to have up to ten meters, but walking from the living room to the kitchen (in a classic terrace house) was enough for it to start cutting out.

All things considered, these are good quality speakers with a minimal design and versatile connectivity; excellent value for money. RRP £150
