The Deuter Comfort III is a premium child carrier, providing comfort to both pilot and passenger on trips out. I will dive straight in by taking you through the specs, it is on the large side at 80cm x 43cm x 34cm (H x W x D), Volume 18L and Weight 3500g, baby can go in this as soon as they can support their head (6-8months) and is suitable up to a maximum weight of 48.5 lbs. Deuter use innovative Pivoting Vari Flex hip fins which taper upwards in a conical form, the concave shape and extra thick, PE-stiffened foam padding spreads the weight evenly and comfortably over the hips. The height adjustable child seat with variable width comes with a soft padded 5-point safety harness, height adjustable footrests, side entry for an easier load & unload, an integrated sun roof which doubles as protection from light rain as well as an ergonomic chin pad (detachable and washable).  The Contoured shoulder straps with 3D AirMesh lining are comfortable to wear over long periods of time and with the simple Vari Fit system you can easily adjust the pack, it is easy to swap the pack during long walks and only takes a minute to adjust it for a precise fit of the wearer. There is loads of storage with a zipped pocket on hip belt, stretch side pockets, large zipped compartment underneath the seat, long zipped compartment for a hydration and a compartment on the back with zipped pocket. Whilst wearing the Comfort III the child felts really secure, even when bending over to tie a shoelace, he really enjoyed his time watching the world go by and nodded off comfortably too. Everything is perfectly padded making it a breeze to wear, although Deuter use ventilating Aircontact technology and durable 3D AirMesh lining we both ended up with sweaty bits, no more than other child carriers or back packs we have tried out. We appreciated the cute little teddy bear that comes with the Comfort III but would much rather swap it for the rain cover that you have to buy as an accessory, it does take up a bit of space in the boot but that’s a small price to pay for a well-made, comfortable and secure child carrier.
