The KitchenAid Artisan range is quite a beauty to behold; these bold statement kitchen pieces will look stunning on any worktop. We received the 1.5L Kettle in Empire Red, but it is also available in seven other colours: Frosted Pearl, Almond Cream, Onxy Black, Candy Apple, Raspberry Ice, Medallion Silver and Cast Iron Black.

Much of our daily life revolves around the kettle - it’s the first thing I use in the morning, the background noise to many a family gathering, is used for drinks, cooking and even the occasional footbath, so it is the utmost importance that we only have the best. The most noticeable thing about the Artisan Kettle is its stylish design; its smooth, rounded, large 1.5litre capacity body has a temperature dial and adjustable temperature knob. Even if you never use the kettle it would be worth owning one just to have it sit on your worktop looking gorgeous.

If you are a fan of tea you might already know that different types of tea need to steep at different temperatures - whilst black tea needs to be at boiling point more delicate flavours like green and white tea need to steep at 75-85˚C. The kettle’s adjustable temperature ranges from as low at 50˚C all the way up to boiling point. Of course, this feature can come in handy for many things other than tea, like warming up baby food or milk.

The Artisan features a dual wall cavity that helps keep the water hotter for longer, whilst keeping the outside of the kettle cool to the touch. It also features a removable lime scale filter. One negative I found was that the aluminium construction means it is a bit of a lump - at 2.5kg when empty it’s a monster when full. However, I think that’s a small price to pay for this robust and good-looking kettle. RRP from £139 - £159.
