The trailblazer 30 from Montane is a close-fitting, lightweight multi-day pack, weighing in at approximately 800g, it is available in either Electric Blue or Charcoal, as the name suggests it has a 30-litre storage capacity, designed for rapid, long-distance mountain trails with its low weight, stability and quick access to your gear.
We received the Charcoal/Firefly colour from Cotswold Outdoor, It features a load of pockets to keep all your kit organised, this includes a large front stretch pocket for storage of a wet fly sheet or jacket, harness pockets with security zips ideal for keeping things within easy reach and the wrap-around wand pockets with locking security zip for extra storage options. There is a pole attachment system on the front of the pack with quick release, 'V' side compression system allows for quick stabilisation of the load on the move and prevents things shifting about and throwing you off balance.
The trailblazer was notably comfortable from the start, thanks to the Montane Covalent Harness, this fully customisable, body-hugging harness gives you a close and precise fit that can be adjusted via the dual direction under-arm pull whilst at no point restricting movement. The adjustable ZephyrAD back system lets you quickly adjust the back length to your size requirements, making it easy to swap between carriers, there is core body ventilation from the Contact Open Mesh back panel to help you keep cool on hot days or long treks. We received the Charcoal version; the internal Halo lining is bright which helps you see your gear right at the bottom, the bivvy-style opening offers fast access with its glove compatible Cord Lord quick-release system. The two off-centre Montane Click and Go chest harness straps give you added stability and, along with the low bulk webbing waist strap, helps distribute the weight across the body. This pack is constructed from Raptor Cross Lite 70 Denier fabric in the main body and Raptor Resistance 210 Denier base panels for durability providing a durable combination to protect your gear from the elements, whilst the front of pack daisy chain has reflective detailing for increased visibility and added safety in the mountains.
