ROKA was formed in Austin, Texas in 2011 by two former Stanford All-American swimmers with the mission being to build the world’s fastest wetsuit. Over the years, they have branched out into fashionable eyewear alongside their wetsuits and goggles, thanks to their experience and love for the great outdoors.
The Phantom Titanium are ultra-lightweight aviators that are available in two sizes: Regular, which has a 57mm lens, or Large, with a 59mm lens. The Phantom adopts the classic aviator shape which suits most face shapes. Thanks to the titanium frame, these lightweight glasses weigh just 20g - not only does it provide an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, but it is a strong metal that will withstand the elements as well as being corrosion resistant. It also retains tensile strength at half the weight of traditional alloys.
The Phantom uses ROKA Category 3 lenses providing a transmission of 11%, best suited for very bright and sunny conditions and will provide a neutral colour vision with moderate contrast. These glasses can also help reduce reflected blue light in deep water environments.
The Phantom Titanium come in four designs; we received the Silver Frame with Arctic Mirror Lens, but they are also available in a Copper Frame with Rose Gold Mirror Lens, Matte Black with Carbon Polarised Lens and the Gunmetal Frame with Glacier Mirror Lens, all with different optical effects. The GEKO Fit has been inspired by the sticky feet of the gecko - don’t worry, you don’t have to slap a lizard to your face - and a proprietary elastomer material has been chosen to create the nose and temple pads. This hydrophilic, chemical-resistant material provides multidirectional traction even if you have sun-cream and a bit of a sweat on.
