Finisterre was born in 2003 from the mind of Tom Kay who wanted to create products and appeal for the needs of British surfers, those crazy folks whose love of surf drives them into the cold and harsh British coastlines; Finisterre (which literally translates into end of the earth or land’s end) aims to design functional and sustainable products for those that share a love of the sea and natural world. There are two important things to consider when choosing surf wear, one, the performance capabilities of the apparel, and two, how cool you look in them (this maybe the most important thing to some people). The Vox Board short from the True North range ticks the box when it comes to aesthetics, the Rough Sea design is an attractive pattern and colour, it is also available in a plain navy to people looking for a more minimalist look. The Vox has taken into consideration function, fit and longevity, they have been made from Delta 100% recycled micro-ripstop polyester yarn, woven in Japan, it can be washed with similar colours in the machine washable at 30 degrees.
The Delta yarn technology has been constructed to remain durable and prevent sagging over time, with a 25cm seam-free inner leg and off set outer seams means there is slim chance of chaffing, and the drawcord adjustable waist with metal free eyelets provides a precise and secure fit. The Vox provide a breathable, wicking and lightweight fit, with an inner pocket for storing small items the shorts also offer UV protection. The Vox provide an attractive profile and look cool and colourful both wet and dry, they are missing an inner mesh that some wears may find less comfortable, but over all a good, hardy, board short.
