The Gore C5 Gore-Tex Shakedry 1985 Jacket is an ultra-slim, ultra-lightweight jacket featuring Gore-Tex technology for exceptional weather protection. Available in either Black or an attractive Storm Blue, it comes in sizes Small all the way up to XX Large, Gore recommends you check out their size guide before ordering as their sizes run a little smaller than you expect. This jacket has been designed specifically for road cycling hence why it weighs practically nothing to help keep the gram counters happy, however we think it can easily work its way into other outdoor activities (although it’s use with a backpack is not recommended).
The 1985 is ready for demanding rides helping you to perform at your best in all weathers, the name honours the companies first ever GORE-TEX jacket, which set their standard in 1985, however it is packed with modern features. The revolutionary membrane construction eliminates face fabric preventing a chilling effect, the adjustable ergonomically shaped collar has Velcro for optimum fit and protection, the front zip pocket doubles as a stow-away pocket whilst the reflective logo and reflective strip on the back improves visibility on the road.
The face fabric wetting out allows to shake off the water with a couple of graceful flaps, letting you stow it away once dry, the jacket weighs just 116g (size Large), it has a wider, comfortable cut, reinforced hem for easier closure of zip, elasticated hem, two-way front zip and zip tags for easy opening. It’s not always the case that you get what you pay for but in this instance it proves true, the 1985 is a comfortable, breathable waterproof and windproof wonder that can be shaken dry and packed down into a tiny compact package, best suited for 5° - 15°C rainy and windy rides, you will not regret this one.
