The Z LOK is the first secured, reusable zip-style tie designed for protection when used on car racks, accessories and other outdoor equipment, but it is can be used in any way you can think of.

Sold in either a single or twin pack, the Z LOK comes in Cyan, Purple, Orange, Black, Lime, Red or Grey. It is incredibly lightweight at just 20g and it has a slim profile of 40cm and a locking diameter of 15cm. It is classified as having a ‘low risk’ security level: It has a secured armoured casing, a double-sided ratchet design, reinforced steel core and can be opened with a universal release (hence the low risk rating). It comes with one key per lock, so make sure you don’t misplace it!

This product is best suited for short stops if you are using it with anything valuable, due primarily to the universal key system. The Z LOK has a toughened nylon outer case with a reinforced steel core to prevent people snipping through it. It is a good choice for securing ski gear when out on the slopes or attaching a helmet to your bike, but if you are looking for something a bit more secure the Z LOK Combo offers a higher level of security.

The Combo is a little weightier at 100g, but it isn’t going to break your back. It has the same adjustable zip-tie design but this time with a reset-able 3-digit combination lock. It is still only classified as a low-risk security system, but it is slightly better than the lock and key version. It is available in three colours: Yellow, Teal and Black, it has a strap size of 44cm and locking diameter of 17cm. It features the same toughened nylon outer and steel core for protection against tampering. I wouldn’t trust either of these locks for anything too precious, but to secure stuff whilst travelling or for very short periods of time these are handy. If you regularly use zip ties, this is a great way to help protect the environment from more plastic. RRP £9.99 (Z LOK Single); £14.99 (Z LOK Twin Pack); £19.99 (Z LOK Combo)
