As part of the ON Runnings new and expanding line of work out apparel, the Tank-T is their only current work out vest, it comes in three colours Coral/Navy, Denim/White and Grey/White in sizes XS-XL, it is also available in a men’s Malibu/Navy and Navy/Black in sizes S-XXL, we will be looking at the Women’s Coral/Navy in Medium at closer detail. First impressions - the Tank-T is extremely light, if you had your eyes closed you could be forgiven for thinking you had nothing on, it is just 54g, I have G-strings heavier than that (that’s a lie but my husband does). It has a racer style back design with large cut outs for ease of movement across the shoulders, it has been created with the idea that ultralight equals ultrafast, I usually wear a medium when it comes to tanks and vest but Tank-T was quite baggy on me, and baggy doesn’t help you go fast so it might be worth ordering a size down if you are looking something speedy.

This stripped back tank has been made for wearing over the top of another sports top, we decided to use it alongside sports bras or crop tops throughout our testing, it features a lightweight Japanese knit fabric that is almost transparent when you hold it up to the light which provides excellent ventilation and transports sweat quickly away from ski, it also dries extremely fast when needed. The Tank-T has taped seams pretty much everywhere apart from down the sides, this helps to avoid chafing, there is a strip of small holes along the spine for some extra ventilation, and it also features a dropped hem for a little extra coverage. We tested the Tank-T with a 5k run as well as a yoga and HIIT class, although the baggy fit probably didn’t do much for aerodynamics it was very comfortable, it was cool and moved effortlessly with my movements, it also performed admirably during yoga, but it is worth wearing fitted top underneath unless you want to bare all during your downward dog. It didn’t fare as well during the HIIT class as it was just too loose for activities like mountain climbing and burpees as it kept riding up, however it’s a good choice for runners if money’s no object.
