You can never be too sure what’s going to come through the door next when you work for a company like GadgetHead and with this product I heard it before I saw it. Was it a hair dryer coming down the hall? A swarm of angry bees perhaps? No, it was the sales director sat beside the Zinc Volt 80+ grinning from ear to ear.

Now don’t get me wrong this is a toy for children (max weight 70kg) but it was so much fun scooting about on this bad boy. The Volt 80+ uses a chain motor to get up to dizzying speeds of 8MPH (trust me it feels fast when you are racing it down the path trying to dodge wheelie bins and wing mirrors) and with a battery life of about 60mins per charge, we got a satisfying 55 mins before it ran out of juice. Charging this thing does take a whopping 5 hours so for goodness sake if you don’t want to hear “is it ready yet?” non-stop during Christmas morning please consider charging before wrapping it up and sticking it under the tree.

The scooter is simple to assemble and once you have it fully charged it’s easy to use, simply twist the handle on the right to go and squeeze the brake on the left to stop, easy! You can stand up or sit down on the removable saddle, with fully customisable graphics this scooter looks awesome and it even has disc brakes to give you better control in the wet as well as in dry weather. My only niggle with this scooter is that it is a little on the heavy side so it can be tricky for little ones to lift it up steps for example, it would also be cool if this scooter could be used as a normal scooter without the motor so you could have the best of both worlds.

To conclude, the Zinc Volt 80+ Scooter is well made, easy to use and lots of fun. A brilliant Christmas present and at only £129.99 it represents good value for money too. RRP £129.99
