As someone whose hair is naturally poker straight, anything that promises to give it some volume and curls is always of interest to me. This thick 32mm iron aims to create large, bouncy and long-lasting curls. This iron has a clipless design that provides a consistent, even heat without causing dents or crimps in the hair or snagging inside the mechanism. It also reduces heat at the end of the iron to protect the hair’s most delicate area, the tips, from heat damage.

The Iron is lightweight, which is important, as it can become quite tiring holding up some irons for long periods of time. The barrel is constructed from Korean tourmaline ceramic and kicks out 210˚C, which sadly is not adjustable, so those with very fine hair should not leave their hair wrapped around the iron for very long. The Clipless Curling Iron has a 360-degree swivel cord with a hook, a full professional length cord and a weighted handle, so you can lay it down without the iron touching the table surface. It is simple to use: put the provided heat-resistant glove on the hand you are holding the hair with, take sections about 1-1.5” wide and wrap them around the iron from root to tip (root at the base of the iron). Keep it in place for three to five seconds, then without pulling the wand away from the hair, release the curl and let it cool.

Using the Jose Eber Clipless Curling Iron took some time, but the end results were shiny, bouncy, loose curls.

The iron’s wand heats up quickly, and doesn’t have an automatic switch off. It also doesn’t come with a carry case or protective heat matt - you are literally only getting the iron and a heat proof glove. Given its temperature, a few more accessories would be nice. However, it was simple to use, and you can’t argue with the results. RRP $130
