The MightyMo is Jetboil’s first stand-alone universal stove system, meaning you don’t have to have Jetboil’s compatible cookware to use the stove . You can bring your grimy old tins that you haven’t washed since your Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award and they will work just fine (apart from the potential food poisoning). This storable single burner is reasonably lightweight at 95g (3.3oz), although there are lighter models on the market. It features a large 10,000 BTU burner with three metal supports that easily fold out to place your pan on.

The MightMo comes with a good quality soft carry bag and a plastic fold-out stand. The stand only raises the burner off the ground by about 1cm, so it can still be difficult to balance it on uneven ground, but it is better than trying to balance the gas canister on the ground whilst at the same time trying to not spill cold economy beans on your feet. You can control the burner’s temperature with four full turns of the regulator valve spindle, all the way down to 20°F. To reduce the major frustration of trying to get a match to the gas without wasting lots of gas, the wind blowing the match out, burning your fingers or all the above, there is a strong and effortless push-button igniter that sends out a spark every two out of three presses. Ideal for one or two people, the MightyMo has a boil time of 3 minutes 15 seconds per litre (in a 5L Flux Pot), which is enough for four small cups of coffee, and you will get roughly 12Litres per 100g Jetpower can.

This isn’t lightest or most compact stove, but it will quickly get you that morning coffee and it is easy to operate. The MightyMo is perfect for a messy weekend camping with your mates – especially as you have the added excuse to only make your own drinks. RRP £49.95
