Our British summer time is anything but predictable, pesky summer showers can halt BBQs as guests grab what they can and retreat for indoor shelter. As for festivals (Glastonbury I’m looking at you) you are more likely to get a mud bath than a tan, making wellington boots are an absolute must for any summer adventure.

Rockfish are the brain child of Jules Aldred, founded in 2008 her footwear was designed to with stand the rigors of equestrian life. Due to their stylish designs, bold colour choices and a reputation as durable boots, they have crossed over from the stable yard to the high street making them a firm favourite with festival goers.

I was lucky enough to test out the Two Tone Zipper Wellington Boot in black and plum, I liked the two tone effect; a classic matt finish on the bottom and a high gloss on the top really makes the colour pop. The YKK gun metal zipper runs the full length of the calf and has an inner fluted waterproof sleeve on the inside so that water can’t seep in through the zip. They are made from 100% natural rubber that has been vulcanised to provide durability & strength (horse urine resistant, hopefully not necessary for a camping weekend but it’s always good to know). When putting them on I had to wiggle my foot a little as my heel was catching on the bottom of the zip, but once on they were really comfortable as they are ergonomically designed to hug the contours of your calf, ankle and instep. They feature a shock absorbing foam insole & foot bed but I didn’t find that this made too much of a difference when comparing it to a normal wellington, in fact the insole actually kept displacing when I removed my foot from the boot.

To summarise, the Two Tone Zipper Wellingtons are really comfortable to wear, they don’t get crazy hot or rub and are durable even when sitting or on long walks. Furthermore, I would recommend to anyone to choose Rockfish when entering the market for wellington boots. £99.99
