London: A Puzzle for Curious Wanderers (1000 Piece Puzzle)

£16.00

Get to know London a little better with a 1000-piece puzzle that celebrates all that the capital has to offer, accompanied by 20 weird and wonderfully shaped pieces outlining a fun fact or a little history lesson about a certain part of London. Across the puzzle, the specially shaped items add a new fun twist to the traditional puzzling format and require even more puzzling techniques to accurately place each one within the more traditional puzzle pieces.

As a self-acclaimed jigsaw expert, I was super excited to give London: A Puzzle for Curious Wanderers a go. All the pieces come in a paper bag alongside the puzzle map, which has the 20 specialised puzzle pieces removed. However, on the overleaf, each specialised puzzle piece is included, along with information and history about each item. This includes information about nose sculptures that appeared on buildings overnight in 1997 along with a matching nose sculpture puzzle piece, or about the creation of the red telephone box, along with a puzzle piece representing its iconic red exterior. With each fact and jigsaw piece, players can get to know a little bit of fun knowledge about London whilst also trying to find where it fits amongst the more standard-sized and shaped jigsaw pieces.

The fun facts and history lessons with each of the 20 specialised pieces are taken from Jack Chesher’s London: A Guide for Curious Wanderers. Therefore, with each jigsaw not only are you getting a fun activity to do with the family, but you are getting a fun lesson about the history of London in the process. Plus, what is better than gifting a jigsaw that you can do with the whole family at Christmas?

You really can’t go wrong with a jigsaw as a present as they provide hours of entertainment and, with London: A Puzzle for Curious Wanderers, you can learn some fun facts about the capital city too! I’d highly recommend this puzzle, as each piece feels well made, and provides a nice spin on the traditional size and shape of each piece, for a more fun experience putting the whole thing together.

Pros:

  • 1000 piece puzzle which takes a few hours to complete for a long activity away from screens
  • Includes 20 irregular pieces which are accompanied by fun facts about London
  • Each piece is well cut and fits together well for easy assembly
