This little Fing measures up at just 5.3 x 5.3 x 5.3 inches and looks a little like an Ikea ashtray, however there are brains behind its rather humble outer appearance. Lets dive a little deeper into the features the Fingbox has to offer: You can see your ISP rank and run automatic speed tests to identify outages, the device will help you find the best Wi-Fi sweet spots around your home (think of Jim Carry stroking the wall in Cable Guy), and you can see which devices are eating up your bandwidth. You can use the Fingbox to catch intruders and hackers in real-time, receive alerts and monitor your devices and network 24/7 from anywhere, and you will receive advance warning of vulnerabilities on your network including opened ports, public IP addresses or missing firewalls.
Reign ultimate control in your home by setting parental controls, which can limit internet access and enforce encourage some digital downtime for both adults and children alike. Want another hour on Red Dead Redemption 2? Do the washing up first! You can assign users to specific devices so you can check on who’s at home and who’s out whilst you are away and see if there are unknown devices near your house, even if they’re not connected to your Wi-Fi.
The Fingbox had a few initial connection issues, but after that it worked as described. If you are looking for a way to monitor who and what uses your internet and to ensure you are getting the broadband speeds you are paying for, this could be a useful unit to install. RRP $99.00
