Logitech PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset (Pink)
£249.00
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it is the perfect time to treat your loved ones with a special gift that shows just how much you love them. Me and my partner are huge gamers, and one of our favourite date night activities is playing a video game together. We always set up a call and can then chat whilst we play games either cooperatively or competitively. However, even outside of date nights, we are both usually found behind a screen for a few hours playing games. Therefore, I was super excited to test out the Logitech PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset in a lovely pink colourway to see whether it would make the perfect gift for a loved one this Valentine’s Day.
My first impression of the PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Headset is that it is beautiful in a lovely bright pink colourway, with shiny pink hardware on the outside of the ear cups with minimalist Logitech branding on each. The ear cushions, top headband and head cushion also have the same bright pink colour. The ear cushions feel super soft and are made from memory foam for a super comfortable wearing experience, supported by sturdy yet flexible rotating hinges to the headband so you can get your headset position just right every time. In terms of aesthetics and overall construction, the headset looks and feels premium. The only aspect that I would adjust slightly would be the microphone, which unlike the rest of the pink exterior is mostly black. I personally, would have loved the entire thing to have been the same pink for a completely monochromatic look – but this is my personal preference and doesn’t affect the functionality of the headset.
However, with any gaming headset, it all comes down to how it performs for the game audio, and how long the battery lasts for each use. The first aspect of this, the audio, is incredibly premium – something that you definitely expect for the price. The PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Headset features 50mm graphene drivers, which deliver a more advanced audio experience designed to enhance the audio response, reduce distortion, and deliver unrivalled sound for gaming. In fact, the PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED even includes noise-cancelling functionality through the G HUB app. This means that whether listening for a footstep or gunfire in intense gaming sessions or just listening to the lovely backing track in some adventure games, every part of the audio experience is crisp so you can game better and enjoy the whole experience more. You can download the G HUB app here for Mac and Windows PCs. You can really tell that the entire headset has been made in collaboration with some of the world’s best players who often play competitively, and so they’ve helped Logitech to design a headset which delivers on sound quality because a missed sound or dulled alert could be the difference between winning or losing a game!
Alongside the dynamic drivers, the PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Headset also benefits from Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED connection which provides super-fast wireless connectivity between the included dongle that you plug into your console. This ensures that you never miss a beat in games, however, you can also connect the headset via Bluetooth or a wired 3.5mm connection if preferred. Logitech's LIGHTSPEED is designed specifically for pro gaming, to support up to 50 hours of wireless gaming with a 30-metre connection, so you never have to worry about missing out mid-game from a low battery.
I was also impressed with the microphone quality, which has been designed with clear communication in mind to enhance group gameplay. I found there were no lagging or weird distortions on calls with friends. This was thanks to the Blue VO!CE technology behind it which eliminates hisses during calls. Plus, I do like that the microphone can easily be taken out, so it doesn’t get in the way when I want to just use the headphones without chatting to anyone. However, as I’ve mentioned I’d have liked this to have also been completely pink to blend in with the overall look of the headset, but this is only a slight aesthetic preference.
The overall look, feel and performance of the headset are super nice. I love how they look, they deliver great sound quality, and they don’t hurt my head during long gaming sessions. As a luxury gift for a loved one who is always gaming, this is a great treat. Although, due to the high price point, I do think these may be a little out of budget for many people, especially with other gaming headsets on the market today which do provide a similar sound for a lower price point - although maybe not in such an aesthetic and premium way. However, for the great functionality, premium sound and lovely aesthetics, I think they’re worth the price to spoil a loved one (or yourself) this Valentine’s Day!
Pros:
- Premium finish with cushioned ear cups and headset for comfortable wearing during long gaming sessions
- Top quality graphene drivers to deliver excellent sound quality
- Good quality microphone that’s ideal for cooperative gaming
Cons:
- The microphone is black and so doesn’t fit as seamlessly with the monochromatic look of the headset, I’d have liked this to also be pink for a more cohesive overall look – but again, just a personal preference and this has no effect on the functionality of the microphone
