I love sitting down with a cup of tea to find a few minutes of peace during the day, and so I go through a lot of different teas over the week. I like anything from a classic breakfast tea to a green or even peppermint tea to end the day. However, many of my favourite teas are of the loose-leaf variety, which can take a little extra work to prepare compared to a tea bag. This means that when I’m getting ready to head out the door in the morning, I rarely have time to brew my tea and then filter it – how about drinking it!

Therefore, I was super excited when the ingenuiTEA 2 Tea Maker came across my desk from Adagio Teas. The tea maker is an all-in-one tea infuser, which allows you to simply place the infuser over your favourite cup once it's brewed, and the tea will pour directly into your cup, perfectly filtered and ready to drink without any faff!

The ingenuiTEA 2 features a clear plastic infuser system, where you can open the lid, place your favourite loose-leaf tea inside, and then pour over your water. The infuser will then do all the work, and all you need to do is wait for your preferred brewing time. Once brewed, the ingenuiTEA 2 is designed to sit over your favourite mug or teacup, and when placed over your chosen drinking vessel, this causes a valve in the bottom of the infuser to release. This sends the tea streaming out of the infuser and into your cup, whilst the fine mesh filter at the base stops any loose tea from getting into your cup. This produces super clear teas that taste great and ensures you don’t have any random tea leaves escaping into your cup! Plus, with a 450 ml capacity, you can have a few cups from a single brew, all without having to re-infuse your tea. You simply place it on your next cup, and you’re ready to pour again.

In terms of design, the infuser is made of plastic but feels super durable and is both dishwasher and microwave safe, allowing it to withstand the high temperatures required for brewing. I love the lid and handle design so you can leave your tea brewing whilst covered, and then easily lift up the infuser to place it on your cup with ease. The plastic filter inside can be removed, which aids in the cleaning of the infuser between uses. Plus, the ingenuiTEA 2 also comes with a nifty coaster, where you can place the infuser before and after use. This is especially useful between pours and after use, to catch any final drips and keep everything nice and clean.
