Outin LattoGo

Milk frothers are designed to add a lovely bit of foam to the top of a drink for an extra indulgent feel. However, the spring-designed ones often leave a lot to be desired, either not foaming your milk enough or being super tricky to clean. Therefore, I was super excited when the OutIn LattoGo came across my desk because it has done away with the typical spring design and instead has a fine mesh whisk design for advanced frothing – plus the whisk shaft can be removed for easy cleaning! A win-win in my books!

The OutIn LattoGo feels premium, not only because of the hard-shell Travel Case that it comes in, but because of the lovely, recycled aluminium handle. The LattoGo we tested came in the Tundra Brown colourway, which is a super sleek, rich coffee brown colour that would look beautiful displayed in the kitchen. Attached to the handle is the whisk shaft, which is made from stainless steel. At the bottom of LattoGo is the dense mesh screen whisk head, which has been reinforced with ribs. This replaces the traditional spring design and ensures that when moving through your milk, it creates a dense, stable yet remarkably light micro foam. Once turned on, the LattoGo provides high-powered whisking, allowing it to move through your milk without excessive vibration, so that it remains remarkably quiet to use.

One of my favourite aspects of the LattoGo is that it comes with a Smart Silicone Ring around the handle, which has a small silicone notch that you can hook over the edge of your cup or milk jug to add an extra bit of stability for your whisking. This means you no longer have to hold or wiggle the whisk too much to froth your milk; instead, it does the majority of the work for you. Once placed in your mug, the raised tip of the whisk allows you to get right to the bottom of your milk, providing consistent frothing throughout your chosen milk. Once frothed, the milk is perfect for latte art, thanks to its more stable micro foam texture! This makes it especially useful for people who want to try simple latte art or create a creamier café-style drink without needing a full steam wand set up.

The cleaning of the LattoGo is one of my favourite aspects of its design, as the whisking shaft can be detached from the handle so you can really clean the fine mesh whisk, without worrying about getting water in any of the electrical components of the whisk handle. This is something I really appreciate over a traditional style, where the two parts cannot be separated. I especially like this as I feel like the mesh whisk needs a little extra care to make sure there's no milk left in it, but after a quick clean and wash, the LattoGo can be spun briely to remove excess water and left to dry.

My only desire for the LattoGo would be that it came with a stand to sit it on when not in use. The design is so pretty, it would look great in your coffee station. However, it doesn’t have a stand to hold it up. The only stand it does have is the Smart Silicone Ring around the middle, which is great for resting the whisk on to keep it clean and uncontaminated whilst making your drink. But I would have loved to see a stand included with the LattoGo. Although I guess the milk frother is intended as a more portable design option, and so instead of a stand, it does come with a sturdy and easy carry case, making it a good on-the-go option instead. I still personally would have liked to see a stand option, but for the quality and milk frothing abilities - and with it being designed to be a more portable option - it’s a sacrifice I am willing to make!

If you love frothed milk for your beverages, you can’t go wrong with the LattoGo Portable Milk Frother. From the lovely design to the high-powered whisking abilities with the mesh design head, it’s a really great option for quickly getting a lovely foam for your drinks. Plus, it's easy to clean and compact, so ideal for taking with you on the go too!

Pros:

  • Dense mesh whisk for stable micro foam
  • High-quality and luxury aluminium finish
  • Super easy to clean as the whisking shaft is detachable

Cons:

  • I wish it came with a stand to present it on my coffee station, but the travel case is a good alternative
