This large 65L capacity bag comes in three attractive colours, Abyss Grey, Rigby Red and Unity Blue (no relation to Unity, the blue alien race featured in Rick and Morty). As with all Osprey bags, it is packed full of features, so buckle up we are going straight in. Starting with the breathable, suspended AG AntiGravity backsystem, this mesh support lays between your back and the rest of the bag, the seamless mesh and 3D cavity backpanel allows for huge amounts of air to pass through, helping to keep you cool and dry, whilst providing comfortable load carrying performance. Next up is the world's first fully ventilated hipbelt, it helps spread the weight evenly over the body and when twinned with the AG it makes the bag wonderfully ventilated, ideal for hard hikes on hot days.
The harness is a super spongy ExoForm and Biostretch with a load lifter bar that’s wonderfully comfy and fully adjustable, with a sternum strap (and emergency whistle), the InsideOut compression provides load support which in turn reduces fatigue. For quick and easy access there are twin zip front pockets, base zip and top-lid entry which means you can quickly get what you need or ask you walking-buddies to grab something without taking your pack off. Other features include Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachments, a large sleeping bag base compartment with internal and an integrated detachable raincover for when the rain gets nasty, it is contained within the lid for quick attachment on the go. If you are keen to shred the weight down to the last gram, then the FlapJacket (sounds delicious) means you have the option of removing the entire lid whilst keeping your gear safe from the elements.
On top of all that the Atmos AG also has an adjustable torso length, it is compatible with Hydraulics and Hydraulics LT Reservoir with its internal hydration sleeve, twin ice axe loops, removable sleeping pad straps and internal key attachment clip so you also know exactly where your house keys are when you get home. There are loads of pockets to keep you organised with stretch front pockets, stretch mesh side pockets, twin zip hip belt pockets and under lid zip mesh pocket as well as the main compartment. It comes in at a bit of a lump at 2.19kg when empty, that is probably the only thing I didn’t immediately love about this bag. Everything considered, this is an excellent bag best suited for short to medium hikes, any longer and the weight might be a bit too much for the average person, saying that it is easily one of the most comfortable bags we have had the pleasure of wearing.
