Taking safety to the next level is the Black Eagle Safety 50 High boot from HAIX, they sneak a little further up the leg than regular boots to add further protections to the lower leg, the upper material is a 1.8–2.0mm thick waterproof, hydrophobic and breathable leather construction, with a GORETEX lining for further protection against the elements. The lining is also abrasion resistant and has optimised Climate comfort for intense activity levels and working in and outdoors, it allows moisture and heat to escape whilst ensuring nothing but cooling air gets in.
The insole is cushioned for comfort as well as featuring some much-appreciated moisture resistance and anti-bacterial treatment, there is a separate heel section to improve the cushioning and enhance the fit and the Airflow channels add some extra ventilation. The sole has a lightweight and athletic construction with deep groves for stable traction on slippery surfaces and abrasion resistance as well as improved heel to toe control in wet, muddy and even Icey weather conditions. The PU cushioned sole also provides thermal insulation, whilst the non-marking rubber outsole is resistant to heat, oil and petrol. The Midsole offers metal-free puncture resistance (that’s nails, splinters and Lego resistant), whilst remaining flexible for natural movement, for hazards from above there is the HAIX Composite Toe Cap, anatomically designed and lightweight it is made of fibre-reinforced plastic for the highest safety requirements.
The Black Eagle Safety uses a Vario Wide Fit System which allows you to choose from three different inserts to get the precise fit for the width of your foot. The HAIX 2-Zone Lacing System lets you ‘lock-off’ the fit on the bottom section of the boot, while still being able to separately adjust the top section, to get the perfect fit. This boot can also reflect direct sunlight due to the leather construction and an additional manually applied rubber ‘toebumper’ helps improve durability and enhanced heel bend for flexibility. This highly protective boot has a bold look (sadly nothing like an eagle!) and is comfortable straight out of the box, you get find the perfect fit and the more you wear them the better they feel and more flexible they become.
