 With temperatures across the country soaring as we enter into summer, the need for a portable fan is no longer a luxury, but instead a must-have item to keep you cool. However, many hand fans require you to hold them to keep you cool. So what do you do when you still want a fan, but need to be hands-free on the go? The answer: a portable neck fan!

Now I’ve never tried a neck fan before, but I was thrilled to put the Aecooly Click Mini Portable Neck Fan to the test and see whether it really can keep you cool, whilst being completely hands free!

The Aecooly Click Mini Portable Neck Fan is a small, compact fan unit that attaches around your neck on a lanyard. The whole thing is super lightweight and features a useful magnetic design to ensure it stays in place and keeps you cool on the go. The lanyard connects seamlessly to the magnetic panel, which you wear under your t-shirt, and then the fan magnetises to this. This makes the fan perfect for using on the go, enabling you to secure it to your front without it moving about and getting in the way.

The fan operates by blowing air up at you from the top of the unit. This delivers a great level of cooling to your face and neck, perfect for keeping you cool even in scorching temperatures. The fan features three speeds, which ensures you can get the best level of breeze for every mood. For general cooling, the first speed offers a lovely breeze; however, I love the second and third speeds for on-the-go. If I’m using the fan its likely because I don’t have my hands free, and so for walks, commuting or even cooking and cleaning when you may not have a spare hand to hold a fan, it’s a super useful gadget to keep you cool in a completely hands-free way. However, I do like that you can still hold the fan in your hand if you want, and so it is a useful gadget to have in your bag to cool you down quickly, even if you don’t want to have it hanging around your neck.

In terms of battery life, the Mini Portable Neck Fan has a 2000mAh battery built in that offers a decent battery life. I found this was perfect for use throughout the day and meant I could easily stay cool without it running out of charge too quickly. Plus, when you do need to charge it, it comes with a good-length charging cable and only takes a few hours to recharge. I will say, if you’re heading to a festival this summer, the Click Mini Portable Fan would be perfect for keeping you cool, and can easily be recharged with a portable charger for cooling on the go – without worrying about having to hold it!
