With this time being so tricky but vital, BabyBjörn have developed a newborn baby carrier to help make those first few months a little bit easier. The Baby Carrier Mini is designed to keep your baby close to you, where they feel safe and cosy.

The Baby Carrier Mini is designed specifically for newborns, offering a high level of support and comfort even from the very first few days of life. The baby carrier we got to review came in a lovely light beige 3D jersey material that feels super soft, whilst still having the right amount of stretch and support to carefully cradle your baby.

One of the big benefits of the Baby Carrier Mini is that it is designed to be super easy to put on and take off. To put the baby carrier straps on, the design is similar to that of a rucksack slipping over your shoulders. The straps are then clipped at the front and can easily be adjusted to get a secure fit to your body. The baby carrying part, then clips into the straps with who main clips at the bottom, and then slots into the top of the arm straps, with two further clips at the top. The top can then be folded up or down to provide extra support to your baby’s neck, depending on their age and positioning in the carrier. This level of support makes the carrier ideal for short wearing sessions where your baby can get comfy and fall asleep, whilst helping you stay hands-free – ideal in those busy first few months! Thankfully, BabyBjörn have also designed the baby carrier to be just as easy to take off as it is to put on, so should your baby fall asleep whilst in the carrier, you can easily transfer them out of the carrier and into their own cot without disturbing them too much.

As with all the baby carriers made by BabyBjörn, the Baby Carrier Mini is recognised by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as a hip-healthy product, providing the necessary level of support and positioning of your baby’s hips. The baby carrier is therefore great for carrying your baby facing you (or facing away from 5 months), knowing that their hips are being supported. Plus, the material of the baby carrier also meets OEK-TEX Standard 100 – Class 1 certifications, which ensures that it has no harsh chemicals, and so it's soft enough for your baby’s sensitive skin, and safe should your child taste it. Therefore, the overall design of the BabyBjörn Baby Carrier Mini is great, especially for newborns who just want to be close to their parent.

Cons:

• The light beige colourway is lovely, but I do worry about it showing small messes more quickly than other colours. However, the material is good for spot cleaning to allow for easy cleanups between washes.
