The CLAM FUSE Headphones we got to test out came in a lovely lilac colour, which is a nice change from the typical standard black headphones you often get. This means that not only do they look lovely, but they add an extra layer of style to your look when on the go!

The CLAM FUSE Headphones are perfect for throwing in your bag for holiday adventures thanks to their foldable design, which lets you fold the ear cups in for more compact storage on the go. However, the innovative design doesn’t end there, because the CLAM FUSE headphones have been designed to be comfortable enough for long hours of wear, thanks to the soft and well-cushioned over-ear cups and padded headband. The design means there are no pressure points that could cause pain after long hours of wearing, and instead you can put the headphones on and just enjoy your music.

One of the big perks of the CLAM FUSE Headphones is that they are built with Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which allows you to get the most immersive listening experience possible where the world outside is blocked out. To achieve this high level of noise cancellation, the CLAM FUSE Headphones have been designed with microphones in the earcups which detect external noise and then create opposing sound waves to deliver a silent listening experience.  However, the microphones aren’t just valuable for the ANC; in fact, they are also used to help the headphones’ Ambient Sound setting. In this setting, the headphones amplify the sounds around you, so you can listen to your music whilst staying aware of the world around you. This setting is perfect for commuting because it allows you to keep your headphones on and keep your music, audiobook or podcast playing, without feeling like you can’t hear traffic or if other people are around you. This helps make you feel safer when on the go, without sacrificing precious music listening time.

I personally think the CLAM FUSE Headphones are perfect for office use too, as they allow you to keep focused, blocking out the world around you, or even use the ambient sound mode so you can stay in the loop with your team or even subtly listen to the office gossip! However, should a colleague come over for a chat, the headphones even have on-ear detection, and so if you quickly take off the headphones to have a conversation, you don’t have to scramble to pause your audio; instead, the headphones automatically pause it for you. Then as soon as you put the headphones back on, your audio resumes right where you left off – so no more missing your favourite song when your colleague wants a quick chat! 

I was glad to see that the CLAM FUSE Headphones have an impressive 45 hours of battery life with ANC off. However, for most of us, ANC is a big draw, and thankfully even with the ANC turned on they still can offer up to 35 hours of playback. For me, this is the perfect length, allowing me to listen to music all day, or even across multiple days, all without having to recharge them!

Overall, the Fresh ‘n Rebel CLAM FUSE Wireless Over-Ear Headphones offer a stylish and well-designed pair of headphones, where every detail from the construction to its ANC/Ambient Sound settings has been devised to deliver a great listening experience.  Therefore, they provide a great entryway into the world of ANC, at a great price point of just under £60.

• Good price point for entry-level ANC headphones

Cons:

• You can’t use the CLAM FUSE Headphones whilst they are charging, so not great if they run out of battery midway through the day – but with such a long battery life, I doubt this will be too much of a common issue.
