In a world that still readily remembers the eerie times of the pandemic, working from home remains fresh in our heads. Amongst Humanscale’s innovative set of products, the L6 Notebook Manager sits in pride of place. Like many of us that work at a computer 9-5, I am a victim of back pains and a crooked neck. Even when I do have a decent desk and office chair, sitting at my laptop takes a serious toll. Consequently, the Laptop Holder from Humanscale seeks to combat this, by providing a healthier, convenient laptop set-up that mimics more of a traditional desktop, guaranteeing sparks of productivity and greater well-being whether at home or in the office.

At first glance of the L6, I was surprised by its front panel. Akin to the majority of other Laptop holders, the panel covers your laptop keys, however, usually, you have a choice of covering your keyboard or not. With the L6 you are stripped of this choice, which is something that could be improved upon in my opinion, as they assume that you possess an external keyboard. That being said, it makes a great companion to any desktop that has laptop extensions to increase the use and productivity of your laptop, particularly when combined with the Proclick Ergonomic mouse and Keyboard systems, creating an easy working environment to get you through your day.

On the other hand, the L6 is very lightweight. This is greatly appreciated as it makes it easy to adjust and select the height and angle in a way that is most comfortable for you. The base also uniquely swivels. This is good if you are in a collective workplace setting, or at home and repeatedly have to adjust the screen.  Potentially, what I find to be the best part about the L6 Laptop Holder is the clear forethought that has gone into the heat ventilator. Unlike many other laptop holders on the market, this one leaves more of your laptop’s base exposed to the air, which greatly decreases the chances of it overheating and eventually crashing, which is the ultimate workplace annoyance!

When used as a vital part of the workspace setup, the L6 Laptop Holder from Humanscale is a very slick, well-made desk accessory. Not only do you have the comfort and functionality of a full-blown desktop, but you also have the convenience of an integrated workspace to give the push that you need to get through those emails!
