The Melitta Look V Perfection is a small and compact coffee unit that is designed to make perfect drip coffee with ease. One of the most exciting things about the Melitta Look V Perfection is that it features the AromaSelector feature, which allows you to set the intensity of your coffee without needing to change the coffee or water quantity. Traditionally, to change the strength of your coffee, you’d change things like the amount of coffee you use or the grind size to adjust flavour; however, the Look V Perfection features a top dial that allows you to set the strength of your coffee. With each pot brewed, you can adjust the intensity and see the change it has on the flavour, to make everything from a punchy, strong cup to wake you up in the morning, to a smoother and less intense brew for a chilled afternoon drink.  I wouldn’t say adjusting the intensity had a super noticeable change for me as a general coffee drinker, but you can definitely notice a slightly stronger or weaker cup, so it would be perfect for those who are very particular about the brew strength and flavour of every cup.  

To use the machine, you just pop your filter in the practical hinged filter holder, which swings out from the front of the unit. You then add your coffee to the filter and close the front panel, and fill the removable water tank with the number of cups of water you will need for your brewing. Then, set your AromaSelector preference, turning anticlockwise for a stronger coffee, and place the jug on the warm plate under the machine. To start the brewing process, you just press the illuminated on/off button. The Look V Perfection filter coffee machine will then continue to run until all the water has left the water tank, delivering hot and delicious coffee into the jug ready to drink. Plus, even if you remove the jug before the entire brewing process has ended, it features an innovative stop-drip feature to ensure you don’t get drips on the base warming plate to help avoid messes.

In terms of cleaning, I was so glad to see that the filter insert, jug and water tank lid can be put in the dishwasher for super easy cleaning. The rest can be hand-washed with some warm, soapy water or a damp cloth. The machine also features a 3-in-1 Cal Protection, which alerts you when the machine needs to be descaled. This helps you to maintain the health of your machine and ensure that every cup tastes as good as the last. I like that the Melitta Look V Perfection features an alert light, which will illuminate when the machine needs to be descaled. This is a super useful aspect of the machine as it ensures you can stay on top of descaling your machine for the best cup of coffee possible with each brewing.
