The festive period calls for some fun and atmospheric lighting, and the Radiant® Starlit™ Rechargeable Lantern and String Light from Nite Ize is the perfect set to illuminate your garden or house with either a calming or fun and funky glow to match the mood.

When I first opened the Lantern and String Light, I was a little confused, thinking the box just contained the lantern and that no string lights had arrived. However, I quickly noticed a small hook on the side of the lantern that, when pulled on, unwinds the string lights from inside the lantern. I was super impressed with the design as it means your lights don’t get all tangled up when stored away, and instead they sit neatly inside the lantern where they can be lit up from within, or unravelled, offering a lovely string light look.

The lantern is where you can operate the lights from, simply by pressing the large power button on the back. Once pressed, you can then click through the different colour settings that control the lights. Across the 70 LEDs, there is the option for a warm yellow/amber colour, red, green or blue lights, and then a range of Disc-O Select options, including colour changing ones such as Classic Disco-O, Disc-O Pulse, Disc-O Twinkle and Disco-Chase. I personally think the Disc-O options look super fun and would light up any room; however, for a more subtle, calming glow, the amber colour is lovely.  The lantern itself offers a lovely warm glow, too, and you can even illuminate the lantern both alone and with the string lights together to get the perfect ambience level.

The lantern has an average run time of 3 hours, with the string lights lasting between 6 and 7 hours. When you need to recharge the lights and lantern, you just plug in the lantern base with the included USB-C charging cable to recharge the entire light set in just a couple of hours. Furthermore, when you’re done using the lights, the back of the lantern flips out, revealing a small crank arm, which you can turn over and use to spin the lights back into the case. This is super easy to do and makes storing the string lights super easy for future use without worrying about them getting tangled or damaged.

If you’re looking for a fun set of lights to illuminate your garden, home or even campsite, the Nite Ize Radiant® Starlit™ Rechargeable Lantern and String Light are a great option. They’re well stored, have a lot of different colours and light pattern options, and are completely rechargeable, making them perfect for using both indoors and outdoors without needing to be plugged into the mains.
