Running is super popular at the moment, with so many people taking up the activity as a hobby to stay fit. However, finding time to fit it into your schedule can be a pain, and so, many of us are used to running in the evenings or early mornings when it can be a little darker. Therefore, a reflective vest that can keep you visible is an essential accessory to keep you safe whilst out running in the dark.

We got to test out the Reflective Running Hydration LED Vest from Proviz, which has safety and functionality built into the design. The vest is made from a lightweight and flexible mix of nylon and spandex, which makes it feel virtually weightless when running. The vest features side waistband adjusters and front clips so that you can get it perfectly positioned and keep it in place even on long runs. 

The vest features multiple zipped pockets, including a waterproof card and phone pocket, a shoulder key pocket and a large rear pocket. These provide ample space for your keys, a card, your phone, and some snacks (ideal for especially long runs), so that you can power through each run without worrying about your keys or phone falling out. The phone pocket even has a small hole at the bottom so you can plug in wired headphones, so you can listen to music whilst running without any cables getting in the way.

I was also super pleased to see that the front of the vest even has a water bottle pocket and comes with a 450ml soft water bottle to put in it. This means you can stay hydrated on your run with ease, and you don’t have to worry about carrying an additional water bottle, which might get in the way. The pocket is large enough to securely store the included water bottle and keep it in place even whilst running.

The safety elements of the vest are where it truly shines, as it has reflective sections, as well as LED lights to help illuminate your presence. The vest features REFLECT360 sections, which ensure maximum visibility from all angles. The front of the vest has a reflective panel on the front phone and card pocket, as well as on the shoulder by the key pocket. Then on the back, there is a large reflective cross shape and two parallel bars across the shoulders. However, one of my favourite additions is that the vest comes with three LED lights: two in white that clip onto the front of the vest, and a red one that you attach to the back. These provide you with vital illumination so that cars and other road traffic can clearly see you even in the darkest of conditions.
