RIDERR Vue Cam

With the winter months soon upon us, road conditions continue to deteriorate, and the early sunsets leave poor visibility for many motorists. As a biker, this low visibility makes riding feel a little more precarious, as many motorists forget to check their mirrors for bikes, instead focusing on the road conditions ahead. Therefore, like many cars, the need for a camera on your bike to capture the road and keep a record of events should an accident occur is an essential, and so RIDERR have developed the Vue Cam, designed to capture every ride in crystal clear clarity.

The RIDERR Vue Cam is a small unit, designed to clip onto the side of your helmet or to the base of your rear-view mirror to capture the road in front of you. The cam is nice and compact, ideal for placing on your helmet or bike without it getting in the way. Despite its compact size, the RIDERR Vue Cam is a powerful device ready to deliver high-performance recording to keep you and other drivers on the road accountable. The cam can record in full 1080p, offering a full HD camera with a 115° wide-angle lens. This ensures that every second of your journey is captured, even in low lighting. To achieve this, the camera features a Sony Starvis Sensor, which is an ultra-high sensitivity image sensor designed to capture all the details of the road even in low light. Thanks to this high-resolution recording, the camera captures a clear record of events on the road, giving me a little more peace of mind that, should an accident occur, everyone is kept accountable.

The RIDER Vue Cam is remarkably easy to set up, thanks to the included installation and operation manuals in the box, which give a simple step-by-step method of how to attach and get started with the camera. The box includes everything you would need to attach the camera to your helmet or bike, making it super easy to get the camera in place and ready to record. The controls of the camera are super easy, and once you’ve installed an SD card, you are ready to go. My only slight complaint is that the camera does not come with an SD card; instead, this is something you will need to provide yourself. Whilst I understand that including such an SD card might increase the price, which is otherwise on the more affordable side, it would be nice to see an SD card pre-installed into the camera to give a more plug-and-play feel to the dash camera.

The camera records footage in 5-minute increments, which can then be stitched together. This helps support better footage storage, whilst still ensuring every second of your ride is captured. In fact, the camera’s resolution can even be adjusted from 1080p to 720p, to help support smaller capacity SD cards, whilst still providing a reliable view of the road. In addition to this, the camera is designed to loop record over the oldest saved recordings to ensure you never run out of space when you might need it most. Then, to access the recordings, the RIDERR Vue Cam can easily be connected to your phone via its wireless 2.4Ghz connection, where you can access real-time video and look back, and download your past recordings. Additionally, the camera is able to continuously record for 8 hours straight thanks to the powerful 2600mAh battery built into the camera. This long battery life is ideal for long rides or multiple short rides over multiple days, ensuring you always have the camera charged and ready to go.

Overall, the RIDERR Vue Cam is a durable, waterproof and reliable dash camera for your motorbike that provides a clear picture of the road and provides your own version of events should an incident occur. If you have a biker in your life or are yet to venture into the world of motorbike dash cameras, the RIDERR Vue Cam is the perfect place to start.
