TOZO ColorPods

£42

TOZO are a brilliant brand for audio devices. With each pair of earbuds I’ve tested, I’m always thrilled with the balance of aesthetic design, innovative technology and reliable soundscapes. Therefore, I was super excited to give the TOZO ColorPods a try, as they not only boast to offer a great listening experience, but the case has been designed to function as a mini control hub for a more convenient listening experience.

One of the most notable features of the TOZO ColorPods is that the charging case comes with a 1.47inch LCD display built into the front of it. The screen operates as a small control panel, allowing you to see the battery life in each earbud and the case. However, the screen does so much more than just show the battery life; instead, it offers you complete control over song playback, call answering, sound adjustment and switching the earbuds to their noise-cancelling mode. Plus, the case even comes with 400mb of storage space, so you don’t even need to connect your phone to them to enjoy music offline, as it can be downloaded directly to the TOZO ColorPods themselves. I’ve never seen a charging case offer so many functions, as well as operating as a mini-MP3 player, making them an exciting and innovative new launch from TOZO.

In terms of sound, the TOZO ColorPods are impressive, especially for such an affordable price point! Each earbud offers a balanced sound for a comfortable and smooth listening experience. However, to take this one step further, the earbuds even have pre-set sound modes which are designed for different listening experiences. These modes include a music mode, gaming mode and movie mode, which are adjusted to deliver a powerful audio-synced experience so you can fully immerse yourself in your chosen activity. Plus, to further customise your listening experience, you can adjust the earbuds directly on the TOZO app, which offers 32 preset EQs, as well as more than 2000 user-shared EQs, so you can find the perfect sound for you.

One of the cool additions of the TOZO ColorPods is that they even have an active noise cancellation (ANC) mode built in. This allows you to reduce external noise by up to 23db, so you can enjoy your music, film or game without outside distractions. This makes the earphones perfect for use at the gym or whilst travelling, so you can enjoy a quiet little bubble even in busy environments. Plus, with the built-in music storage, you can enjoy your music offline while you fly to your destination!

Overall, the TOZO ColorPods offer a great sound and comfortable wearing experience, supported by an integrated screen that turns the case into your own mini control hub and MP3 player for better control over your music, and even offline playback whilst on the go! Plus for under £50, they’re a great, affordable option ideal for taking with you on adventures this summer.

Pros:

  • 1.47 Inch LCD screen for better control over your earbuds
  • Decent level of noise cancellation, even in noisy environments
  • 400mb of built-in storage for offline listening
  • Customisable listening experience with preset modes and EQs, with further customisation via the TOZO App

Cons:

  • The battery life could be better; the case holds 38 hours, but each earbud does run out of charge in a few hours and needs to be recharged for continued use
