It’s not much fun trying to get a sweat on with cables tangling you up or dancing around to your tunes whilst tethered to a device. The Harlem Wireless Headphones from KitSound are fully wireless, connecting via Bluetooth to free up your movement.

The headphones are available in either a dark blue or black with rose gold detailing, both in a matt finish. They are named after the legendary hotspot for live music, from the in the 1920s jazz roots of the Harlem Renaissance through to the resurging live music scene now. The Harlems have a strong battery life; it only takes two hours to fully charge the headset with the included USB, which will get you about 30 hours of continual play time. These headphones feature built-in track controls, call handling and volume controls on the earcups. The earcups themselves are rather small but are adjustable, generously padded, lightweight, and come twinned with a padded headband - very comfortable.

Starting with the design, I like the look of the Harlems. We had the dark blue model, and I loved the colour and the simplistic design. Moving on to their functionality, they were easy to connect to your device. There are audio cues to let you know when the headphones are turned on, connected, and when you have reached the highest volume level. The sound quality is adequate - it has solid bass and good mid-tones, but the vocals get a little lost at high volumes. The volume control on the ear cup was frustrating, as it needs to be held down rather than pressed once, so the volume will shoot up or down and it is difficult to pin point your ideal volume. As this button is multifunctional, it is hard to get it to do what you want and easy to select something you don’t - I would rather have more buttons than this fiddly, frustrating one.

For the price range, the Harlems are pretty good: reasonable sound quality, excellent battery life, and if you can get past the poorly designed buttons these could be seen as a bit of a bargain. RRP £35
