The prospect of fitting a car seat can be a task that strikes fear into new parent’s hearts but with a Simplicity Car Seat, as the name would suggest, it’s simple. Silver Cross have designed this car seat to be used with the ISOFIX Simplifix base (RRP £120) as well as being compatible with all the combination prams (the Pioneer included) however it can also be safely attached with the seatbelt, with bright blue guides to show you where it needs to go. There are green indicators on the Simplifix base to let you easily see that the car seat is fitted properly and an extendable leg, with the same indicator system, to give the base another point of contact with the car. The seat itself is 0+ rated which means it can be used from birth up to 13kg and comes with a removable Comfort wedge that allows new born babies to lay at a flatter more comfortable angle. Baby is secured into the seat with a 5 point padded harness that keeps both babies upper and lower body held and can be easily tightened or loosened with a push of a button.
In regards to the harness I was really hoping Silver Cross had solved the problem of putting baby into the seat and then having to fish the straps out from underneath them but alas no. There is extra padding on the sides of the seat that not only helps keep baby comfortable but acts as an extra safety measure in the event of a side collision. The Simplicity Car Seat is everything we would expect from Silver Cross, beautifully designed to incorporate style, safety and ease of use. RRP £120
