The Bresser Science ETD-201 is a stereo reflected light and transmitted light microscope. It can be used for medical applications as well as agriculture and forestry, criminology, academic, mechanics and electronic engineering, sciences and schools. This microscope has an extra-wide foot and stage, with a tall height range to better view large objects.

The integrated reflected and transmitted light illumination can be used in combination and is fully dimmable. The angle of incidence is easy to adjust and lock into position, it has a continuous range of magnification from 8x up to 50x, abd you can change the wide field eyepieces (WF 10x) and the 6.25-times stereo zoom objective lens (0,8x-5x). The interpupillary distance and dioptre compensation can be adjusted individually, and the trinocular microscope head can rotate 360°. It comes with two 45° inclined eyepiece tubes and a separate camera tube for the attachment of a c-mount camera or MikroCam (more on that later).

This microscope can be powered via a USB port and cable or from the mains adapter. The options are included in the kit along with a glass plate, plastic plate (black & white), dust cover and manual. We received the Bresser MikroCam PRO HDMI microscope camera along with the microscope - this has a Sony IMX 236 sensor that provides 1920 x 1080 pixels Full HD resolution, and the professional software for PC installation is included for more functionality, including image acquisition and image processing, image and video capture and time lapse. The image quality is sharp, clear and without delay; you don’t need a computer to use the camera, as pictures and video can be stored on a SD card. The camera can be controlled via the included USB mouse directly through the onscreen display, and connection to a PC is still possible. Lastly, we looked at the HDMI Display for MikroCam Pro. This 11,6" HDMI monitor has a 258mm x 145mm active area, IPS Full View technology with LED backlight, native Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080), and an adjustable holder with 1/4" photo thread for viewing your images taken with the MikroCam Pro. With the same resolution as the camera, the image data does not need to be scaled for viewing: the display size is adjustable, so you can work as before and view the image on the monitor, and the display provides clear images from any angle, making it ideal for groups of viewers. This display comes with a Y-adapter, so you can use the power supply from the camera, although a separate power supply is included, and it comes with a specially designed HDMI cable so there is no cable clutter around the workplace. All three products work smoothly with each other, creating a powerful microscope system for a wide variety of applications. RRP £698.99
