When I was little we went on a summer holiday to France. I remember being amazed that the bathroom had what my dad joked was a foot bath. I believed this for two days, until I told my mum I was going to take a foot bath and she had to tell me that it was, in fact, a bidet. Since then, whenever I have the opportunity to use one, I will - I mean, if you get your hands dirty, you wouldn’t just rub them on tissue, would you?

The Lux Bidet Neo320 is a warm water bidet with a one-touch pressure and temperature control. It has been approved by widely accepted ASME plumbing standards for manufacturing materials, durability and water pressure requirements. The Neo comes with Do-It-Yourself Installation - fear not, it can easily be installed in 15-20 minutes with just a screwdriver and wrench, and all the instructions and accessories you need are included.

The Neo will fit most two-piece and some one-piece toilets. It has a dual nozzle design, meaning it has a nozzle for both holes (boys, don’t look confused - one is just for girls). The nozzle guard gate ensures the bidet is always ready for clean operation, opening for access to the nozzle and then retracting for hygienic storage, and there is a convenient cleaning feature to thoroughly rinse the nozzles out. You can activate and adjust water pressure easily with a chrome-plated lever on the unobtrusive control panel, which also features a second lever to change nozzle selection and activate the cleaning feature.

The Neo has high-pressure valves; braided steel hoses for the cold-water connection and an adjustable-length polyurethane hose with a metal end is for the hot water connection. I like that I can upgrade my toilet into a fancy bidet, and it’s easy to install and use. I don’t much like the look of the dial, as it looks a bit dated, but all things considered this is a cool little gizmo. RRP $120
