Dakine’s ‘Cyclone’ range is made for the world of surfing. Now, when you think of surfers, you may conjure up the idea some topless, muscle bound Adonis (or is that just me?) but, in reality, you have spare clothes, your phone, keys, wallet, sun cream and maybe some snacks, and you need somewhere to keep all that uncool but essential gear.
The Cyclone II Dry Pack 36L has been created to be the ultimate surf pack, with some brand-new features for 2018. Its roll-top closure stops sea water, rain, beer or any liquids from getting into the bag. There is a large main compartment and dual outside pockets that feature PU coated zips, and added to this, the Cyclone II also has a welded construction, making it 100% waterproof.
You can choose between using the two-way purge valve to inflate the bag - this means in the event of hitting the water it will float - or you can use it for space saving compression. There is an integrated board carry system that helps you travel by attaching the board and bag to the Cyclone II. Other features include the “sweat-less” breathable back panel, adjustable sternum strap for a secure and stable fit and there is a dedicated laptop sleeve suitable for most 15” laptops. It is comfortable to wear even when fully loaded thanks to the ergonomic shoulder straps, but the lack of padding and absent waist band means the weight isn’t distributed across the entire body, which could make long distance travel more tiring on the shoulders.
Overall the Cyclone bag is very well made, with tough materials that will keep your gear dry even on the wettest of adventures. RRP £120.00
