I have always loved a big chunky winter coat and when I got the chance to write a review for London Tradition, I jumped at it.
Since the 19th century, London Tradition has been a centre of garment manufacturing, however there are very few companies like them left. They are deeply proud to represent the best in modern British manufacturing.
I am a twenty-something fashion conscious lady and my choice was the Martina long coat in the Camel colour, which is a warm shade: perfect for various outfits, occasions and seasons. The actual making of the coat I can’t fault; the seams are tightly bound, and the stitching is very precise. The real leather details on the toggles are very well made and the coat comes with a spare toggle.
The fit of the coat is accurate, flattering and sleeve lengths are perfect. The fit also allows me to wear a winter jumper underneath comfortably. The wool is dense which keeps me warm and it is also wind proof. Although the wool is dense, the coat still feels lightweight when wearing it. I found this coat to fit closer to my body than other duffle coats, which I like as it gave a more flattering look.
Also to my liking was the patterned lining on the inside, as it adds a smart design to the coat. There is an inside pocket which is perfectly sized for my phone and can be closed with a button. There are also two large pockets on the outside. The hood is on the smaller side, but this is something I have not had before in a coat and it works well and looks great (as well as keeping my ears warm!) The London Tradition logo is on the inside and above it is a ‘Made in England’ label. This works as a hanger, although I would have liked to have seen a sturdier piece of fabric to hang the coat up with.
Overall, I think this coat is very well made, with details that make it look sophisticated and sleek. This coat is versatile and works well for various occasions, including walking the dog and running errands. RRP £260.00
