This is a rigorously tested bag, that has been used at least 3 times a week during the 6 months we have had it, it has travelled around London, been hiking in North Wales and Norway and recently went skiing in France. Apart from being a little dirty it still looks as good a new, there is no wear on the bottom from being dumped on the ground due to the tough nylon material, the stitching is still perfect and the padding in the back and straps remains full and supportive. The Osprey Axis 18 as the name suggests is an 18L bag that performs well in both the urban environment and in the great outdoors. Starting with the main compartment there is an elasticated laptop pocket that rests against the padding on the wearers back as well another sleeve for magazines, paperwork or a tablet whilst still leaving plenty of room for clothes and other essentials. The pockets are lined in a light lime green material to make it easy to spot objects at the bottom of the bag.

The next compartment houses a webbed organiser with 3 pockets suitable for phones, wallets or mp3 devices and a key clip, on top of that is a scratch resistant pocket for sunglasses or small electricals that is lined with a soft scratch proof material which is a really nice touch. The bag also has two angled side pockets, a grab handle, Front bungee compression system (also useful for holding a jacket or jumper on walks), Sternum strap and detachable waist strap, LED bike light attachment point and Reflective graphics as well as EU hand luggage size compatible making this a really adaptable bag. The die cut EVA foam shoulder straps and spacer mesh back panel make the bag comfortable to wear for long periods of time and breathes well so you don’t end up with sweat patches. The only issue we had was that sometimes the loop tags on the zips would pop off when pulling too hard but it wasn’t difficult to reattach them apart from that this bag makes a great companion from the daily commute to weekend away or a hike up a mountain.
