Summer is truly upon us, even if no one has told the weather. It’s time to pack up your airbed and portable BBQ and head to a field with one toilet for 200 people, it’s camping season!!! The Milano 10 is an excellent choice for a large family, group of friends or one person and their entire house, with a 200cm peak height most people will be able to comfortably stand which makes activities like getting changed and river dancing much easier. There is a large living area that can be utilised for storage, gatherings or ceilidh’s and two sleeping pods with dividers that can be rolled down to form four sleeping areas in total (2x 3 people and 2x 2people). The inner material and mesh lined sleeping pods help to keep the air moving and keep things as cool as possible whilst keeping out the creepy crawlies that are just dying to get in and buzz around your face all night. For spying on your neighbours there are convenient panorama windows with PVC on the bottom half and netting that can be zipped down over the top for privacy. There is a large handy mesh storage pockets to let you quickly locate the loo roll and the large main entrance can be kept over for ultimate ventilation by using the upright poles which can also be used as a sunshade. To protect you in the bad weather the Milano 10 has a 5,000 mm water column, the highest available quality for family tents like this and the sewn-in groundsheet, keeps out drafts and damp. For such a large tent it is easy to erect but we recommend having two or three people on hand to get it up quickly but it’s a pretty standard affair, we did lose one peg loop on the first attempt which didn’t bode well but all the others were fine. Other features include fire-retardant materials, waterproof sealed seams, repair kit, storage bag and full assembly instructions. The Milano is a wonderfully spacious tent and worked hard to keep out the rain but when it came to some strong winds one night it didn’t fare as well, it bent and buckles knocking over a few things, it remained undamaged but proved it is best suited for fair weather camping a moderate wind will be ok but strong gales might become a bit of a problem. It will also take up a lot of space in your car at 110 x 42 x 23 cm and weighs a lot at 29kg, so you don’t want to be dragging this across numerous fields from the car pack. All in all, it is a good tent if you are looking for lots of space, ease of erection and are likely to be camping in fairer weather. RRP £364.82
