The Airport TakeOff V2.0 aims to be a suitcase that has everything at once - no matter where or how you are travelling, you can roll it, carry it by the handles or pop out the concealed shoulder straps and wear it as a back pack. It is designed and sized to meet the needs of a traveling professional, and is compliant with most domestic and international airline carry-on requirements.

The Airport TakeOff V2.0 has a generous gear profile, holding two DSLRs with lenses attached plus two - four additional lenses, a 15” laptop and a 10” tablet, or two Gripped DSLRs with lenses detached plus four - six additional lenses, a 15” laptop and a 10” tablet, and will accommodate a max lens size 400mm f/2.8 attached (hood reversed). The retractable handle smoothly pops out to a generous length to suit even the tallest of photographers, and it feels strong and of a good quality. The custom-designed, 80mm wheels with sealed ABEC grade 5 bearings allow for quiet rolling, sitting in extra tall wheel housing to protect the bottom of your bag from scraping on the floor. Like many Think Tank Airport bags, the retractable handle, wheels and feet are replaceable for extended life.

Looking inside the bag, the top compartment cradles large camera bodies for a perfect protected fit. There is an interior zip pocket for small accessories, whilst reinforced, customisable dividers support heavy gear and maintain strength over time. In addition, there is a dedicated, plush-lined, scratch-proof pocket for smartphone or sunglasses and a zip organizer pocket on the front of the dedicated laptop compartment.

On the outside, there is a large pocket for a tripod or water bottle, and additional straps included for larger tripods. There are even cables and a combination lock included - what more could you want? Well, for me, I would like the shoulder strap system redesigned; even when the bag is just half packed, it is heavy, and whilst the straps are ok for carrying the bag very short distances, they quickly become uncomfortable - especially on smaller frames. With this in mind, a padded waist and sternum strap would be an excellent addition when carrying the bag for longer periods of time.

However, even without the suggested improvements, the Airport TakeOff V2 is an excellent bag, packed with practical features that make travel and location shoots easier to complete. RRP $369.75
