In 1979, tennis enthusiast Thierry Maissant developed an ambition to provide any tennis player with a product that could be adapted to his level. From here he co-created the brand with Hermano Da Silva Ramos, a former French Formula 1 racing driver. Tecnifibre when on to create their first strings with a brand-new technology: the polyurethane.
The Carboflex 125S is the competition racquet played by 2014 World Number 1 squash player Mohamed El Shorbagy. This squash racket is made from a composite construction of Graphite and Basaltex. Carboflex 125S is lightweight at 125g. It is heavier in the head but still provides a good balance. It features 500cm² (77.5in²) head size, a length of 68.5cm (27 in) and a 18mm cross section. It has a recommended tension of 11-13 Kg / 24-29Lbs but will take a maximum tension of 17 Kg / 37 Lbs, has a stillness rating of 82RA and a swing weight on 187.
The Carboflex has a multidirectional weave to help reduce shock, and there is a removeable bumper on the head to allow you to string it with your favourite type of strings. The shaft has been specially designed to increase the power behind each of you swings whilst at the same time maintaining aerodynamics, and the handle features Tecnifibres Squash Dry Grip to provide a firm grip even in sweaty hands.
We found that the Tecnifibre Carboflex 125S performs extremely well; the factory strings are good quality and it is worth playing with them for a while before deciding whether to re-string it. This racket is ideal for a technical player looking to add power to their gameplay. RRP £79.99
