Ariat was founded in 1993 by Beth Cross and Pam Parker, beginning with designing riding boots using the latest technology for riders. From there, they have become the USA’s English and Western performance footwear brand, as well as creating a whole host of technical clothing lines. The Ariat Momento H20 Jacket has been created to keep you warm and dry whilst doing what you love best and keeping you looking stylish at the same time. Featuring Cool Climate Insulation which uses a durable water repellent finish for wind and water resistance, it has an adjustable inner waist to allow you to get a precise fit that hugs your body, giving you an ergonomic profile and tailored look without restricting movement. The seams have a waterproof sealing, preventing rain from seeping in during a downfall, the zip has also been constructed in a way to keep the water and wind out.

Alongside this the zip has a 2-way design allowing you to open it from the top and bottom give you a versatile design and more comfortable sitting/riding position without putting pressure on the zip or creating bulges. The Momento has a zip up chest pocket for storing small valuables, and two large zip hand pockets that double up as hand warmers with soft lining when you are off the horse, the hood is helmet compatible and completely removeable for reduced bulk on dry days. The back of the jacket has saddle vents which allow the jacket to cover the lower back whilst sat in the saddle keeping you dry and preventing the jacket from riding up or exposing the base layers to the elements. The Momento looks edgy and slick, its black colour coupled with the shiny metal detailing almost like a biker jacket which is a refreshing break from the more traditional riding jacket models. The only thing that bugged me was the zip on the chest pocket was fiddly and stiff to open but this could loosen up over time. The Polyfill insulation makes for a very cosy ride, and the equestrian friendly design allows you to focus on the ride rather than being distracted by bad weather. RRP $189.95
