OMsignal, based in Montreal, creates smart apparel to help enhance the workout experience of people who live fit and active lives. The OMbra is the world’s smartest sports bra, its ometric technology powering the OMrun app to gain a detailed insight into you exercise.
I was sent the OMbra started kit, which includes one OMbra, the OMbox and a charger. There are four colours to choose from; Blazing Black, Poppin’ Pink, Timeless Melot and Jazzy Cheetah, which is a very colourful speckled design. On first look, the OMbra is well made, constructed from 82% polyester and 18 % spandex. The whole thing screams quality, as you would expect for this price.
The OMbra features a ladder strap adjustment on the front of the body so you can easily adjust it whilst wearing it…why aren’t all bras designed this way? The cups have removable pads inside for added comfort and to flatter the figure. There is an ultra-soft and flexible underwire the will help reduce bounce, but it is so comfortable that you won’t even know it is there. The racer back helps to absorb shock and is constructed from a moisture wicking mesh with breathable panels to help regulate body temperature. This is possibly the best running bra I have used, and I have got through a lot.
That praise is before I have even had the chance to mention the smart technology that’s embedded in the bra. Biosensors capture your heart rate and breathing - information that gets collected by the OMbox. Clipping comfortably onto the OMbra, the OMbox will track your steps and stream the data to your iPhone via Bluetooth. The companion app will give you a personalized coaching experience with visual and audio feedback tailor made for your ability and heartrate. The placement of the sensors give you an accurate result, more so than a tracker on your wrist. The more you run, the more the app gets to know your body, helping you to achieve your weight goals in a safer, more sustainable way.
When I first opened the box, I was a bit worried about how comfortable it was going to be working out with big lump of plastic attached to me, but I didn’t even notice it. The app is smooth and informative but sadly only available on iPhone - that is probably the only fault I found with the entire product. If you have an iPhone then this could be the perfect running bra/activity tracker for you. Overall, it is an excellent product, wonderfully designed with lots of smart tech and exceptional comfort.
