The Shot Scope V2 is, according to the creators, the world’s smartest golf watch, which has fully-automated shot tracking while you play, with accurate GPS distances to feet/metres of greens and hazards. You can you leave your phone in your bag or in the car, you don’t need to worry about fiddling about with tagging, just simply play as you naturally would. The V2 is simple to use; all you need to do is register for a free Shot Scope account and download the iOS/Android and desktop apps, then set up and screw the lightweight tags into your clubs. Once set up you can play at over 40,000 courses worldwide with no need for subscriptions and analyse over 100 statistics on Club Distances, Approaches, Short Game, Tee Shots and Putting. To enhance putting statistics all you need do is press the PinCollect button at the end of each hole, this then provides you with a more accurate approach. The dynamic yardages provide you with highly-accurate distances to the green and hazards, regardless of your angle of approach, both distances to bunkers and water hazards are clearly shown, the large screen makes it easy to view and the responsive buttons allow for easy navigation around the menus.
ou can collect medals for on-course achievements such as hitting a drive 200 yards or holing a 10 ft putt and see how you rate against fellow golfers by checking out the leader boards, both global and private. There are three play modes to choose from: GPS, this only provides distances, GPS+Track this provides distances and automatic performance tracking and PRO, which can be used for tournament use when GPS isn’t allowed and only tracks your performance. The Automatic Performance Tracking means every shot you hit on the course is tracked with no user interaction required, the watch comes with 16 Club Tags, giving you enough for each club plus a few spares, and they are both lightweight and unobtrusive. The Bluetooth connectivity means you don’t need any cables to use or upload your data after playing, however there is a plug-in option too. The watch itself is comfortable to wear with a soft adjustable strap and is fully water resistant.
