Spyder was born in 1977 when David Jacobs’ noticed there were limited options for ski racing sweaters. From there, the company has expanded into all types of snow sports apparel and outdoor wear. The Bromont Jacket is highly featured and well-equipped for the elements, it is available in three striking two tone designs Black/Turkish Sea (black and blue), Polar/Acid (grey and yellow) and Volano/Black (red and black) as well as a more understated Wool Blend Twill/Turkish Sea (grey). It comes in a tailored fit for a slimmer look, but without restricting movement.

This jacket has two of our favourite names on board, GORE-TEX and PrimaLoft. Starting with GORE-TEX, this high quality technical magic appears in two ways the 360º Stretch Nylon with GORE-TEX Laminate and PFCecFree DWR and Wool-Like 2L with GORE-TEX Laminate and PFCecFree DWR, this provides a four-way stretch for excellent flexibility whilst keeping water, wind and snow out of the jacket and allowing heat and moisture to escape. The Bromont uses PrimaLoft Silver insulation (60g) this silky soft padding provides a high loft and warmth that mimics the performance of goose down but won’t clump when wet and dries out quickly. On top of this the jacket also has a watertight AquaGuard front zipper, underarm ventilation system, fully adjustable and removable hood and powder skirt, adjustable cuff and hem and fully taped seams.

There are plenty of pockets to take your essentials and valuables with you on the sloops, all with waterproof zips, the two main pockets have a soft lining to double up as handwarmers, there is also a chest and data card pocket zippers, google pocket in the interior. There is spacer mesh padding around the top of the back and arm pits for extra ventilation and the Recco Avalanche Rescue System is built into the jacket and the reflective detailing on the front, back and sleeves of the jacket help with visibility. The Bromont jacket is wonderfully warm and weather proof, due to the generous insulation the jacket is a little bulky so is best suited for very cold days, the main zip is quite stiff but hopefully this will loosen up over time other than that (and perhaps that bold design) this isn’t much to put you off.
