The Andes Pro Drystar jacket is from Alpinestars’ adventure/touring range. This jacket provides 100% waterproofing, high levels of breathability, and is also compatible with Alpinestars’ active airbag protection system, Tech-Air.

The Tech-Air Street Airbag System comes in the form of a vest (sold separately) and installs easily, requiring no external sensors to operate. This jacket is available in two designs: Black/Red and Light Grey/Black/Dark Grey/Red in sizes Small to 4x Extra Large. The jacket has an extra protective polymer layer in the elbow and lower arm for abrasion resistance, whilst the reinforced poly-fabric textile and Alpinestars exclusive Drystar waterproof and breathable construction makes it suitable for all-weather riding.

There is internal impact protection provided by removable CE-certified elbow and shoulder protectors, whilst the chest and back pad compartments (CE-certified Nucleon chest and back protector inserts available as accessory) are for use when Tech-Air is not installed. The zippered chest air intakes and back exhaust ports provide you with ventilation when needed, there are pre-contoured sleeves with accordion stretch panels on elbows for freedom of movements, and the volume adjustment lets you get a close and secure fit.

The Andres Pro uses a hook-and-loop grip waist adjustment belt for a personalised fit, optimised for use with Alpinestars pants (see review) thanks to the internal waist connection zipper. There are external zippered pockets for secure storage of personal items, including a large, external utility pocket on lower back, as well as waterproof internal pockets and an insert wallet pocket. Additional features include reflective logos for extra visibility in poor light conditions, the YKK zipper has double sliders for main front closure, and an integrated soft edge collar with 3D mesh construction for comfort over long periods of wear.

Alpinestars’ long sleeve thermal liner (100g body, 80g sleeves) can be added for colder days, removed for warmer days and washed for stinky days. The stretch gussets on the arm and sleeves have been designed to accommodate the jacket’s inflated volume without damaging the seams or materials. The LED display on the sleeve is used for indicating the airbag’s operational status, while internal housing located in the built-in CE-certified back protector accommodates the system vest’s ECU.

The Alpinestars Andes Pro Drystar Jacket Tech-Air Compatible is comfortable and works seamlessly with the Tech-Air system, helping to keep you safe on the road. RRP $549.95
