The Highway 600 from Pure is an in-car audio adapter with DAB, Bluetooth music and hands-free calling. this kit comes with antenna, wireless controller, magnetic grounding tail, DAB film aerial, microphone module, batteries (2 x AAA), wireless controller bracket, 12v power adapter, self-adhesive cable clips, cleaning wipe and documentation. The system allows you to update your car audio into a modern DAB radio with extra features instead of replacing your entire system. Once installed, you can Bluetooth your own music from your mobile and answer phone calls safely and hands-free whilst on the move. You will need a little time and patience to fully install the system - it isn’t difficult, and you don’t need any special tools or know-how, but it might take some time to fit the cable out of sight.
Once fitted, you should have access to a wide range of digital stations available in your area; you can connect your phone and play audio from your device or stream services like Spotify, for example. The sound quality was good in most areas, although we found it could be a patchy when passing through some areas of the countryside. It is also Digital Tick approved, so it is ready for any future FM to digital radio switchovers. It will work with your existing audio system, using a simple aux-in cable or transmitting over an unused FM frequency.
For an a small annual fee (your first 12 months free) you can use the Go button to tag a track you like (Spotify Premium required), and it can be added directly to a Spotify playlist. The display on the device is clear, and the controls are simple to use, and thanks to the battery power you don’t have to worry about adding extra cables to your dash. When connected to Bluetooth, you can access your device’s Personal Assistant, due to the built-in microphones, and you will hear the device respond via the car’s speakers. This simple device upgrades your tired old car radio, dragging it into the 21st century.
