Whenever I’m on the hunt for a new pair of headphones which will deliver great sound quality, at an affordable price point, Edifier are always my first stop. Each pair provides a great audio experience, all in an aesthetically pleasing headset – and the W830NB Wireless Over-Ear Headphones with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) are no exception.

Straight from the box I was super impressed with the design, the headset we tested was in a lovely minimalist all-black design with just the subtle edifier logo on the headband. The headphones were super lightweight and sit comfortably on the head supported by extra cushioned ear cups and a soft headband – perfect for wearing for multiple hours in a row without any pressure or pain. I especially loved that the cushioned ear cuffs meant that my glasses weren’t being pushed into the side of my head uncomfortably, so I could wear them all day for work without much fuss.

In terms of sound quality, the W830NB’s are exactly what I’ve come to expect from Edifier – the headphones deliver top quality audio utilising 40mm large dynamic drivers and an independent chamber layout to deliver a rich sound experience every time. In fact, the headphones boast to utilise Bluetooth V.5.4 and have losses LDAC audio coding that delivers a 990-kbps transfer rate, so you can enjoy your audio with up to three times the music detail of standard Bluetooth codes for a great and crystal-clear audio experience. Whilst I’m no audio expert, I have to say the sound on these headphones is great and measures up to many of my more expensive headphones options – but for a much better price tag!

The Edifier W830NB Headphones deliver 54 hours of playback time with ANC on, and a remarkable 94 hours without it on. This means that no matter where you’re going you will never be caught without charged headphones. The ANC on the headphones is one of the main features that I love about the W830NB Headphones, as it delivers -45dB of noise cancellation to silence the outside work and achieve 18% more noise cancellation than the previous generation. This means that with ANC turned on, you can enjoy a peaceful music bubble without the distractions from the outside wear – super ideal for commuting!
