If you don’t know what to get someone for Christmas, one of my main recommendations is to get them a great pair of headphones or earbuds. For this, Skullcandy are a great go-to brand, offering high-quality audio experiences supported by affordable price points and incredible style. Therefore, I was excited to review the new Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earbuds, which offer high-quality audio, a long battery life and a great level of ANC, to deliver earbuds that are designed to go with you wherever you go.

The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC Earbuds bring together leading sound quality and an innovative design to deliver great earbuds that are designed to optimise audio experiences. The earbuds utilise Bose sound technology to deliver exceptional audio quality, where even the highest highs to deepest bass notes are heard in crystal clear quality. This great sound spec is then met with the innovative design of the earbuds, which feature a Fit Fin ear gel design that sits around the earbuds to offer a better and more secure fit in your ears. Thanks to this design, the earbuds are super comfortable to wear, whilst providing a secure fit – perfect for long hours of wearing.

The fins also help ensure that excess sound from outside can’t get in, which supports the active noise cancellation (ANC) of the earbuds. As expected, this means that the ANC is great, offering a decent level of noise cancellation. However, be sure you have the best fit for your earbuds to your ears, as the better the fit, the better your ANC experience will be. Additionally, the earbuds feature 4-mics to support the ANC, which help to filter and adjust the level of noise cancellation of the earbuds, to help them be as effective as possible. However, these mics are also used in the Stay Aware mode, which allows you to hear the world around you whilst your earbuds are in and music is playing. This means you can stay more aware of your surroundings for safety. I love being able to switch between full ANC when I’m working or at the gym, and then the Stay Aware mode when walking home so I can hear the traffic and people around me for an added layer of safety without compromising on my listening experience.

With such a great sound and ANC offering, I was glad to see that the battery life of the earbuds didn’t disappoint. The Method 360 ANC earbuds offer up to 32 hours with the ANC turned on, thanks to 9 hours of audio playback on the earbuds alone, and then a further 23 hours in the charging case. However, with the ANC turned off, the total battery life is expanded to an even more impressive 40 hours. This long battery life means that you never have to worry about your headphones cutting out in the middle of the day, and instead, from a single charge, you can use the earbuds for long hours at a time over multiple days without needing to recharge them. However, when you do need to recharge them, the earbuds support fast charging and so you can charge up your earbuds quickly and get back to doing whatever you like, supported by Method’s 360 earbuds’ top-quality audio.  

The sound quality and depth of sound delivered by the Method 360 ANC is excellent; however, if you’re a true audiophile and want to further personalise your sound, you can adjust the earbuds with the Skull-iQ App, where you have the option of 3 pre-set EQs or you can customise the EQ to your own unique sound preferences. The app also allows you to change the button functions on the earbuds to make them even more customised to your specific needs.

All of these great audio specs are delivered with Skullcandy’s iconic and adventure-focused design, which sees the Method 360 ANC Earbuds in an innovative slider case, where you just pull the base of the case down to reveal the earbuds on either side of the holder. I love that the charging case doubles as a keyring that can easily be attached to your bag, keys or jeans so you always have your earbuds with you, whether you’re at work or jetting off on an adventure.

Cons:

• The charging case is designed for adventure, but this means that the case is quite bulky, and it takes up more room than many other earbud options I’ve tested, which often come in a more streamlined case. Therefore, it may not be ideal for keeping in pockets or small bags.
