The Stockholm earphones from Urbanista are, as is so often the case with Urbanista products, rather beautiful. They come in four different colours: Black, White, Rose Gold and our favourite, Olive Green, with a charging case in the same colour as well as a micro-USB charging cable and instructions manual, all packed into an attractive box that would make a great gift. These true wireless earphones are completely cable free, you get about 3.5 hours play time and if they need a top-up simply pop them back in the charging case to receive a total of 14 hours playtime (recharging fully up to three times), this is about average for this type of headphone and should be enough to get you through an entire day of commuting, working, getting home and hitting the gym afterwards. The Stockholms are ready to connect as soon as you take them out of the case, simply search for them on your Bluetooth settings and connect.
They use Bluetooth 5.0 for a smooth signal, and are compatible with both Android and Apple devices. The built-in microphones (one in each earbud) lets you take calls hands free and provides a clear conversation in stereo with noise cancellation. The earphones are lightweight but felt rather large in my ears - I usually use the smallest silicone tips - however the Stockholms don’t use ear tips which meant they weren’t the most comfortable or secure, in fact the right one popped out when I turned my head and it caught on my hoody. They feature intuitive touch controls; with just a tap or two you can adjust the volume, skip tracks and take calls, you can also activate your voice assistant, Siri or Google Now for example, for further functionality. The sound quality is satisfying, the bass could be a touch stronger, and the top notes can be become harsh at louder volumes, but over all it provides an enjoyable sound for most genres of music, tv and films.
