Triwa was founded in 2007 by four friends with an idea to transform the industry of watches through contemporary design, modern distribution and creative marketing. Their studio is based in central Stockholm, housing a team of 30 people and distributing watches, bracelets and sunglasses to 1,200 retailers in 25 markets.
Suck UK are well known for their, let’s say, ‘out-there’ products, from gimmicky gadgets like drumstick pencils and giant novelty desk tidies to innovative items such as the Jack Rabbit duel headphone jack, or the alarm clock the runs away and forces you physically get up to turn it off.
Ever heard of the expression “As useful as a chocolate teapot”? We all know chocolate melts when it gets warm, sort of like how we all know salt dissolves in liquid, so imagine my surprise when I was handed some shot “glasses” to review that were made from salt! However, I was happy to test these out just for the excuse to drink tequila in the name of research (it’s a hard job at times...)
For the last few weeks, I have been dazzling friends with the Kymera Magic Wand, a very cool gadget from The Wand Company. The Wand is designed to be used as a universal remote, where with a flick of the wrist and an ‘Expelliarmus’ you can turn devices on and off, their volume up and down and change channels. Aimed at a very specific market, the wand is a suitable replacement for the basic remote control, and if you’re a fan of the Harry Potter Universe like me the novelty does not wear off.
I remember when I bought my first case for my kindle, I was so excited that you could flip the case over and use it as a stand I thought it was the coolest thing ever. However it was delicate and if you happened to sneeze in that general direction it would collapse.
As technology is increasingly finding its way to improve every aspect of our lives, it isn’t surprising that people are turning to it to keep their loved ones safe. I’m not talking about those small screaming humans that always seem to be sat near me when I go for lunch (I must stop having lunch with my sister and her 3year old) but the four-legged barking kind.
Caliper launched their first watch, the View, in March 2016 after a successful Kickstarter campaign that managed to raise over 250% of their original goal. Today they produce 8 different varieties of the View watch that all are self-winding by using the wearers body movements.
The Volcano Classic comes with a brushed metal cone. It features a high-performance heating cartridge and a diaphragm pump, is fitted with an independent temperature fuse and also includes an air filter and silencer. The specially designed 1aluminumheating block brings the air cleanly and reliably to the desired temperature. The battery-powered Mighty Vaporizer uses a patented combination of full hot air convection heating and additional conduction, which ensures an efficient vaporization from the very first draw. The integrated 1.4 cm³ filling chamber can be used with herbs, or with liquids when using the additional Liquid Pad. The Cooling Unit has a flippable mouthpiece, and you can control the device’s temperate with an LED display. The Mighty has two powerful lithium ion batteries and can perform plugged, via power adapter, and even with completely drained batteries.
