myFirst Instant Print Camera

£99

I love using an instant print camera to capture fun moments with my friends and family and then print them out instantly as a reminder of the occasion. I can then keep these images as a physical collection of memories over the years. Therefore, I was excited to see that myFirst have developed an Instant Print Camera designed specifically for kids to allow them to enjoy the same fun of instantly printing memories, in an uncomplicated and child-friendly way.

The myFirst Instant Print camera is the first of its kind, offering a dual screen to snap, print and share memories in a single unit. The camera features a 16MP back camera and a 2MP selfie lens that captures high-quality images and video in 1080p. The camera features pre-loaded frames and filters, as well as customisable stickers, so kids can make each shot their own before they are instantly printed.

The printer uses ink-free thermal printing technology, which means there’s no messy ink cartridges needed, and instead, with a few simple clicks, the Instant Print Camera will print your pictures in under 10 seconds. The Instant Print Camera comes with three rolls of high-quality thermal paper for all your printing needs. However, as the Instant Print Camera uses thermal imaging, the images are produced in black and white, but myFirst are currently in the process of developing Colour Burst Thermal Paper, which will allow for printing in colour. This would need to be purchased in addition to the Instant Print Camera if colour printing was wanted.

One of the fun parts of the Instant Print Camera is that it features a PixTure OLED Screen on the front, which can be used to showcase emojis, status updates, charging progress and more with fun pixel-style animations. Then, the 3” IPS colour display on the back is perfect for easy navigation and shot framing, to help kids perfect their shots and capture the world around them with ease.

I like that the camera has been designed for kids, with its pocket-sized shape and easy navigation to help kids explore the world around them and really delve into their creativity as they take pictures and videos. I’m glad that the images and videos captured can also be transferred to your computer to keep for many years to come, alongside the physical prints from the camera itself.

If you have a child who is always trying to steal your camera, then the Instant Print Camera from myFirst is an excellent Christmas present option to give them their own camera that is child-friendly, mess-free, and really focuses on helping kids explore their own creativity.

Pros:

  • Thermal mess-free printing
  • Large IPS screen for easy navigation and picture framing
  • Fun PixTure OLED Screen for added personalisation
  • Photos and videos can easily be transferred to a computer to keep forever alongside the prints

Cons:

  • The thermal printing paper will need to be placed once the included thermal paper rolls run out, which is an ongoing added cost
